Printmaking repetition
This is an introduction to printmaking and to repetition as a creative move. The student designs once and prints many times. Each print is the same and slightly different. Pen detail added afterwards lets the student vary each print without recutting the rubber. The carving step requires a sharp tool - a craft knife, a lino cutter, or a sharpened pencil end works. Students will be surprised that a tiny rubber can fill a whole page. Encourage them to overlap and rotate.
