Examining our community through the lens of food and food waste

The Kit.

Year 4-8 students: Create and annotate a community food map using multiple food related lenses to examine the same area. Identify local food heroes and celebrate their contribution to our community. Identify sources of food waste in our community and use global models to design and prototype appropriate responses.

Your Physical Kit

Our kits are beautiful, physical, tangible, tactile things (with digital components built in). They are designed to be used and transformed by students into learning keepsakes. If you register for the Story Vets kit then you’ll also be granted access to a private kit page within our network where you’ll be able to access prompt support from a member of our School Kit Team to ensure your teaching experience is awesome.

Kit includes: 6x Vinyl photo frames and caption cards, 1x Fact Sheet, 1x Soup Station pennant, 1x Soup recipe card, 3x Pickle Station cards, 32x Pickle Jar stickers, 32x sets of Food Memory cards, 1x Set of Thing + That + For cards, 1x Circle Poem template, 5x Award Certificates, 1x A4 Speech bubble sign, 64x Map Stickers, 1x 1kg Salt, 1x Pickling Spices, 1x Star Anise pack and 1x Green herb stock powder.

Every kit has three parts
