Poetic voice
This activity teaches voice in poetry. The student writes a poem in a specific register: gentle, caring, addressed to themselves. Most advice writing is stern or ironic. The constraint here is kindness. That single instruction reshapes how the student speaks on the page. The clone framing matters. Without it the activity tips into self-criticism. With it, the student writes to someone they love who happens to be them. The final read-back is the curriculum content. Students learn to hear tone in their own writing.
