Colour sorting
This activity trains a specific kind of looking. A single colour as the search target makes the world legible in a new way. The gradient task at the end is the curriculum content. It asks the student to see that colour is not one thing but a range. Pale yellows, bright yellows, orange- yellows. That observation is the skill. Some students will say there is nothing of their colour around. Tell them to keep looking. There always is. The card offers two routes. Both produce the same kind of looking.
